Relaxing Google Doodle Game Will Have You Making Boba Tea On Repeat

Google is celebrating the popularity of bubble tea or boba tea with an interactive doodle. Google is known for commemorating various historical events, holidays, and public figures with fun doodles on its home page. The company also occasionally adds cool new Easter eggs on its home page or search results to commemorate great achievements, pay tributes to public figures, or celebrate sports events, video games, movies, and TV shows. The latest such addition is The Last of Us Easter egg that ‘infects’ search results with a fungus, the same way it infects people in the apocalyptic HBO show.

On Jan. 29 2020, Unicode announced a new emoji to mark the global popularity of bubble tea. To celebrate the occasion, Google has introduced a new playable doodle that requires users to make a bubble tea order with a required amount of tapioca pearls, tea, and syrup. As explained by Google, the doodle features Taiwan’s indigenous Formosan Mountain Dog as the bubble tea vendor with a handcart, and a crew of familiar doodle characters as customers. The user’s job is to simply make the bubble tea for each customer by using the recommended levels of each ingredient.

Users wanting to check out the game can start off by going to the Google Search home page on desktop or mobile and then clicking on the transformed Google logo that is now an interactive doodle. Now just wait for the animations to complete (or click on the fast-forward icon) and follow on-screen instructions to get started. The new doodle is available in most regions of the world and on most Google Search domains, including google.com. However, it’s likely to be removed soon, so users should play it while they can.

After the brief tutorial, users will need to tap and hold the screen to fill the ingredients to the line. It can be tricky, but adding the correct amount of ingredients will earn users a star (a total of three stars can be earned for each perfectly-poured ingredient). The Google game has a total of five orders, each with a varying amount of the ingredients. Once done, users will see a screen displaying their results. They can now choose to share their results or replay the game.

Playable Google doodles are extremely popular, and the company keeps releasing new ones every few months. One of the most famous playable Google doodles is Pac-Man that was released in 2010 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary arcade game. Google also has an Atari Breakout Easter egg that lets users play the game right from the search results. Most playable Google doodles and Easter eggs are fun and highly entertaining, and the boba tea game is no different.
