How To Install and Configure iVMS-4200 Client for Hikvision Cameras – CLEAR IT SECURITY

iVMS-4200 is a versatile video management software for Hikvision OEM DVRs, NVRs, IP cameras, encoders, decoders and other supported alarm and access control equipment. It provides multiple remote system functions including:

• Real-time live camera viewing of a single camera in full screen or multiples of 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, 24, 25, 32, 36, 48 or even 64 cameras per monitor… with up to 4 monitors per PC or Mac!
• Remote Playback of recorded video with event date/time search
• Video file backup to local computer or USB drive
• License Plate Search of ANPR data using date/time/license plate # fields with supported LPR cameras

When properly configured by CLEAR IT SECURITY it can be used to meet the needs of your monitoring task. With it’s easy-to-use operations and feature customization, this software can be used by surveillance projects of various sizes and needs.

To get started on your Windows PC or Mac, click here to open the Client Software download page as shown below.

On the Hikvision Client Software page shown above, click on the latest version available or Hikvision iVMS-4200 v2.7.2.4 (Windows)(English) (NEW!) then scroll down down through the change log until you see the download button (as shown below) and click on it.

Alternatively, this link will take you straight to the download agreement page for Windows client v2.7.2.4.

Once the General Terms of Use agreement appears, click on Agree with these Terms and your download will begin.

Once the download begins progressing, please be patient!

The application is over 200MB in size and may take anywhere between a couple of minutes to a couple of hours to download, depending on your internet connection speed.

Extract iVMS-4200 Client (for Windows) from downloaded file

The downloaded file is compressed using RAR compression and as such requires a program that can un-compress the file. We recommend you download WinRAR or download 7-Zip as they are both free and work perfectly for this task.

Once installed, open either one and use the app interface to locate the downloaded file: iVMS-4200(v2.7.2.4).rar

You should see the file: iVMS-4200(v2.7.2.4).exe inside the iVMS-4200(v2.7.2.4).rar file. Extract and run or open the file and install the application.

Installing iVMS-4200 Client for Windows

Double-click on the downloaded .exe file to begin installation

When the User Access Control window appears and you are asked Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Click Yes and complete the installation as follows:

On the Welcome to the InstallationShield Wizard page, Click Next >

On the License Agreement page, click (O) I accept the terms of the license agreement then click Next >

On the Select Features page, leave Client checked and click Next >

On the Ready to Install the Program page, click Install

Installation Begins Copying files

Note: Depending on the speed of your computer, this may take between 2 and 10 minutes to copy all files needed.

Once Copying files Completes

On the Setup Type page, leave the Create Desktop for Client checked (so you will have an icon on your desktop) and click Next >

On the InstallShield Wizard Complete page, click Finish
