Linear is a software company making issue management software for software development and bug tracking that is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded in 2019 by Jori Lallo, Karri Saarinen, and Tuomas Artman. The company’s software allows users to add Figma links to any issue or comment, automatically track GitHub pull requests, get updates and create issues using Slack directly in slack channels, connect with over 1000 other tools with Zapier and create new issues using Zapier, and create custom workflows using the Linear API. The Linear API allows users to query and mutate data using GraphQL to create their custom workflows.

On November 22, 2019 Linear announced raising $4.2 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital (lead investor), Tikhon Bernstam, Marc McCabe, Larry Gadea, Julia DeWahl, Jude Gomila, Jeff Chang, James Smith, Gustaf Alstromer, and Index Ventures. At the time of receiving their seed funding Linear only had 4 employees.
