PowerSoft – effective management of networked UPS units!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

PowerSoft Professional consists of two applications:

  • THE MAIN APPLICATION, for recording power events and configuring reactions to such events. The main application is to be installed on a PC that is physically connected to the UPS through an RS232 port, a USB or an SNMP card. The application includes:

    • A system service, that communicates with UPS via a respective UPS connector, reads information on the current status of the computer and changes settings depending on the user preferences. The system service always starts automatically with the operating system and monitors UPS notwithstanding the user is logged on and the control panel is launched.

    • A control panel (or a user’s graphical interface), which allows displaying information about the UPS, changing its settings and configuring the system in the case of power loss. The control panel needs not be turned off for the system service monitoring to be active (the application can be minimized to system tray).
  • A NETWORK CLIENT, an application that is installed on all PCs controlled by the main application.
