Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) Using CFD Software – Haneon Fort Engineering

Course Overview

The aim of project and operational risk management is to identify and minimize the impact of risk on the project and operations. Since risks are uncertain events organizations will always attempt to reduce their exposure to these uncertain events through risk management. And Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) is one of the formal risk management process conducted during all project life cycle phases to manage and control risks.

However, accurate prediction of the atmospheric dispersion of vapours as well as pool spreading and pressurized liquid releases are central to performing a thorough quantitative risk analysis. The key to such accuracy can only be achieved if a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) validated software such as KFX EXSIM is deployed. KFX EXSIM is not only the most powerful CFD tool for the precise prediction of QRA models but can also be used to conduct Structural Response Analysis to fire loads.
