What are the Chances of Season 3 of Kono Oto Tomare?

After the Kono Oto Tomare manga’s debut in 2012 by Amyu Sakura, the manga was well-received with its art style, and storyline. Moreover, in 2014 with the release of the first season of Kono Oto Tomare, Anime and Manga both gained immense popularity, which hasn’t diminished even today.

In Anime, the sounds that were only described in the manga came to life and the music was simply fantastic! We could see just what set this music anime apart from others with just the music alone. It’s a great story of a group of friends, with huge personality contrasts, that want to save their Koto club and just play the Koto.

When Can We Expect the Kono Oto Tomare Season 3? 

The animation studio behind Kono Oto Tomare, Platinum Vision hasn’t released an official trailer or a release date for season 3 of the series. The manga is up to 25 volumes now the first season premiered in April and season 2 was released on December 2019.

Platinum Vision has all rights to cover the entire manga and we can expect that they will make season 3. We can expect the announcement of the official release date of Kono Oto Tomare Season 3 in late 2022 or early 2023 but the anime is bound to have another season.

Season 1 Recap

The first season introduced the President of the Tokise Koto Club, Takezo Kurata, who is the sole member of the Koto club and wants to recruit more members. Chika Kudo, a misunderstood boy infamous for his delinquent past, wants to join but Kurata rejects him. However, after Chika saves Kurata, Kurata accepts him as a member.

Satowa Hozuki, a Koto prodigy, also joins the club, but her personality and haughty behavior immediately clash with Kudo. They eventually get enough members to protect their club from disbandment, but the Vice Principal issues a challenge that stirs up trouble. It was a great season with friendship, adventure, and music!

Season 2 Recap

Season 2 of Kono Oto Tomare starts with the clubs’ decision to join the National Koto Tournament in Japan. They start preparing for the prelims, but their advisor, Suzuka Takinami sees they have much to improve before the prelims. Akira Dojina’s grandmother from the Tsubaki Schools offers Akira as an instructor for the club.

Under her teachings, the young Koto players get a better handle on the basics and she’s a great teacher. But, she’s hiding a dark secret concerning her feelings for Hozuki. At the end of the season, the Koto club advances to the next round and the members mature after personal and professional breakthroughs. Besides, the kindling of young love makes anime even more fun!

Season 3 will start after season 2 and delve into Chika and Satowa as 2nd years and Kurata and Hiro as 3rd years. Two new members join the club, and we are bound to see the drama, suspense, and breakthroughs that will make season 3 the best!
