3 Steps For Controlling Your RGB Lighting On Your PC | iBUYPOWER®

Adding RGB to your set-up is super exciting, but it can easily become a pain in your rear when setting it up. There are so many programs to download and colors to choose from, that it’s easy to get lost and confused. With an iBUYPOWER PC, RGB is made easy. Our prebuilt systems come with RGB expertly installed and quality controlled. Once it’s plugged in, you can easily customize your RGB using a pre-installed lighting program on your desktop. If you’re building your own rig–we still got you! In this guide, we’ll be breaking down how to control the RGB lighting on your PC to save you the headache.

Controlling Your PC’s RGB in 3 Steps

Step 1: Identify the RGB ecosystem

First, you have to identify which RGB control software corresponds with which components. For your PC system, you would look into which RGB control software your motherboard is compatible with. Some examples include MSI’s Mystic Light, Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion, ASUS’s Aura Sync, and ASRock’s Polychrome SYNC. Your RGB peripherals have their own respective programs as well! Razer Synapse and NZXT Cam are some examples of RGB control software for peripherals. Some components might not even use software and are remote-controlled.

Step 2: Download the necessary programs/drivers

Once you’ve identified the RGB “family” that your components belong to, download their respective software and drivers. Not all of your components will fall under the same lighting ecosystem so you might have to download several programs to ensure full control of your RGB. If you’re not a fan of that, third-party programs also help you connect all your RGB lighting into one software.

Step 3: Customize and Create!

Now that you have everything connected, it’s time to customize your lighting! There are many ways you can change your PC lighting to your taste. Most programs allow you to change the lighting style, color, effect, brightness, and even lightspeed. Depending on what your gaming lifestyle looks like, RGB can help create and enhance that experience!
