Ana Says Farewell With OG and With Dota 2 As A Whole

  • Anathan “ana” Pham has decided to drop out of competitive Dota 2
  • He will be retiring just two months after his return to OG
  • Ana says that OG will always feel at home, but he wants to learn and explore more things

Professional Dota 2 player Anathan “ana” Pham will be leaving OG’s lineup not long after he returned to it. Ana says he is retiring from Dota 2 and want to open a new chapter in his life.

Moving Onto The Next Chapter

Anathan “ana” Pham is a popular elite Dota 2 player who recently returned to OG, his original team. However, just two months after that, ana has decided to make changes to his life and leave Dota 2 esports for good.

Despite seeming sudden to fans, ana’s decision was by no means half-baked – it came after a long time of pondering. OG’s recent performance was less than thrilling, and maybe that led ana to seek alternatives outside of professional gaming. He described it as “moving onto the next chapter of his life.”

An official Tweet on OG’s page reflects ana’s thoughts on the matter:

“The past few years have been an incredible journey, and it is finally time for me to say that I’ll be stepping away from Dota. I have been on the fence about this for a while now but am ready to move on to a new chapter in my life. Long story short, Dota has been the biggest part of my life for the longest time, and I am starting to find and appreciate other things in life that I want to learn about and explore.”

Ana is thankful to OG for being so understanding and supportive. He said he will always feel at home with the team but that it is time to move on.

OG’s Recent Downfall

OG is definitely not in prime form. The team failed to qualify for two Majors in a row – the Singapore Major in the spring and the AniMajor in Kyiv that ended just a few days ago.

Ana was one of the team’s most powerful players during OG’s two victories at TI in 2018 and 2019. However, despite him coming back and making some other lineup changes, OG still failed to qualify for the AniMajor.

The team will now try to make up by joining The International 10 through the regional qualifiers. The roster is currently hard at work on preparing for its coming.

It is a bit unfortunate that the team will now part ways with ana just two months after getting back together. However, hopefully, it would be for the best, and that ana will discover a new calling in life.
