Create a Bitcoin Invoice in 2 simple steps — PaymentX
Today, I am going to show you how to create a Bitcoin Invoice using PaymentX in 2 simple steps. PaymentX helps individuals and businesses to create invoices and get paid in crypto. Let’s dive in.
First, you need to create an account on PaymentX. Once logged in, we are ready to create invoices. Here are two simple steps, we will explain them one by one.
- Add a wallet (Or existing wallet address)
- Create Invoice

PaymentX supports both custodial and non-custodial wallet options to receive your funds. This flexibility makes PaymentX a secure invoicing solution. PaymentX provides four options to receive funds.
- Use your existing Bitcoin wallet address (Non-custodial)
- Create a wallet with PaymentX (Custodial)
- Use your existing Bitcoin wallet using Mnemonics (Custodial)
- Connect your Trezor wallet
For this tutorial, we will use an existing Bitcoin wallet address. Now, we are all set up, let’s create a new bitcoin invoice.
Wallet options provided by PaymentX
Create a Bitcoin Invoice
Now we are ready to create an invoice. Click on the ”Create Invoice” button on the right side of the screen, it will open a screen shown below.

Here you need to fill the invoice details.
Logo — Logo of your company.
Bill to — Email of the person who will receive the invoice.
Invoice Number — A unique invoice number.
Due Date — Date, when the invoice is due.
Payment details — Select the wallet in which you want to receive the payment.
Pricing Type — PaymentX provides three ways in which you can charge your customers.
- Amount Only — Add the amount
- Hourly — Charge on Hourly basis
- Quantity — Charge based on Item quantity
Currency for pricing — You can select the currency for the invoice, PaymentX supports multiple fiat currencies. All invoices will be paid in cryptocurrencies but denominated in fiat.
Invoice Item Details — You can add multiple invoice items in PaymentX.
Attachment — You can also attach a file with your invoice.
In addition, you can add two more fields to your invoice from the right side of the screen.
Bill from — Company details, address, etc.
Title — Invoice Title
You can also save your invoice as a draft or copy an existing email.
How does Invoice look like and how my contact will pay?
PaymentX will send an email to notify your customer about the invoice as shown below.

Your customer needs to have an account with PaymentX. Once your customer logged in his/her account they will see an unpaid invoice as shown below.

How does your customer will pay the invoice?
As mentioned before, your customer needs to have an account with a custodial wallet to pay the invoice. This helps in tracking the payment once paid by the customer.
At the time of the payment, PaymentX will fetch the latest Bitcoin pricing to show how much BTC (Bitcoin) your customer has to pay.
In addition, PaymentX allows you to pay multiple invoices with one click. Just select “unpaid” invoices from your dashboard and pay them in one go.
How will I track these Invoices?
Once your customer paid the invoice, you will receive an invoice payment email, and you can also check it in your PaymentX dashboard. Besides, you can also check other pending and received invoices in your dashboard.
