Zune is a Microsoft based utility software that is no longer offered to the public. It was officially offline in 2015. It was used as management software for Microsoft Window applications but got replaced with a phone a desktop app for Windows. The final release of the software was on Aug 22, 2011.

Zune was used as a media player and could be used with MP3 files and more for audio, MPEG4 files and more for video, and JPEG images. It could download all of these into the Zune Marketplace. This was an online store for the user. You could move around all these files to PC computers. With this software installed, the user could buy music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and apps. These could then be used for the Xbox and phones.

The music section contained 14 million songs and could be filtered by genre so the user could easily find what they needed. The prices were usually around $1 to $1.25 per song. Users could also purchase a music pass where they could download as much music as they needed without paying more than around $10 a month. The Videos section contained movies from many big groups including Paramount, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Brothers. The user could also purchase music videos. The applications section contained apps and games the user could play.

Originally, this application was only available in the United States but did become available in other countries later on. Although podcasts were only available in the United States, over 20 countries could access the applications and movies on the software.
