Games Like ‘Dragon Ball: The Breakers’ to Play Next
BNE Entertainment
Dragon Ball: The Breakers is the latest in a long line of spin-off games based on the popular manga series. But instead of thrusting you into chaotic 2D battles or sending you off on a world-saving quest, you’re thrown into an adrenaline-pumping, asymmetrical multiplayer experience.
At its core, Dragon Ball: The Breakers is a 1v7 multiplayer game. One team is composed of civilians, while the other team is composed of a single player that takes on the role of a Raider. This character is remarkably powerful, and it’s their job to hunt down the seven other players and prevent them from escaping. Playable Raiders including iconic faces such as Cell and Frieza, and they’ll have the chance to level up their skills and demolish entire portions of the map — forcing the survivors to rethink their strategy.
The survivors, meanwhile, are simply trying to make it through the round and escape to safety. Survivors don’t quite have the same arsenal of powerful skills as the Raiders, but they have a lot more freedom to scour the map and find useful objects or locations to evade pursuit. You can also try to track down the seven Dragon Balls to morph into a powerful being capable of going toe-to-toe with the deadly Raider. There’s a lot of tension when playing as a survivor, as you’ll need to be smart, stealthy, and unafraid to take a big risk when necessary.
If you’re looking to pick up a new game after sinking hours into Dragon Ball: The Breakers (or you found that it simply didn’t live up expectations), then there are plenty of similar games to consider. Many of these are also asymmetrical multiplayer games, but a few are solo survival experiences that offer pulse-quickening thrills without the need for an internet connection.
Here are 10 games like Dragon Ball: The Breakers to play next, listed by Metascore.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory offers a bombastic single-player campaign. It’ll send you around the globe to collect intelligence from your opponents as you try to avoid a massive worldwide conflict. Slinking around in the dark and quietly dispatching foes almost feels like a puzzle, as you’ll need to monitor patrol patterns, find ways around locked doors, and get creative when trying to extract from each location undetected. Multiplayer fans will also want to sink their teeth into the online mode, which sees one team lurking around as spies while the other team hunts them down as overpowered mercenaries. The asymmetrical multiplayer modes are no longer online on PS3 and Xbox 360, but PC players will find plenty of private servers that are still bustling with players.

Best for: Fans of asymmetrical horror games
Where to buy:
Also available on: iOS, PC, PS5, Stadia, Switch, XB1, XBX
Dead by Daylight is arguably the best alternative to Dragon Ball: The Breakers. It sees a group of survivors trying to outwit and escape from a solitary killer. This is done by working together to map out your surroundings (each level is procedurally generated for a nearly limitless pool of content), solve puzzles, and quietly slip into the night. The killer, meanwhile, will use a host of special skills to track down their prey and send them to an early grave. Dead by Daylight has seen a variety of high-profile collaborations, and players today can jump into the shoes of Freddy Krueger, Pyramid Head, Elliot Spencer, and more.
“Dead by Daylight pays tribute to horror movies from the ’80s. The asymmetric gameplay is just as fun no matter if we’re playing the killer or trying to escape him.” — Jeuxvideo.com

Both teams (one composed of a solidary Predator, and another composed of several Fireteam members) are given access to an impressive arsenal of weapons, which means you’ll get into some frantic shootouts as the match progresses. Predator is given the task of eliminating the Fireteam, while the Fireteam is just trying to complete their mission and escape to safety.
