Does this replace Logos Basic?

Yes, we’ve made getting the latest updates to Logos easier by removing the requirement to checkout with Logos Basic every couple of years to get the latest updates. Instead, we’re delivering them automatically to all your Logos apps (desktop, web, and mobile).

If I own a previous version of Logos, do I need to download the free update to the desktop app?

Own Logos 10? Then no, your software will automatically update as long as you have automatic updates turned on. If you don’t want to turn on automatic updates, you can update your app manually by typing “update now” in the command box on your desktop app.

Own any Logos 9 product (Logos 9 Basic, Logos 9 Fundamentals, a Logos 9 Feature Upgrade, or any Logos 9 base package)? Then no, your software will update automatically on 2/21 as long as you have automatic updates turned on. If you have them turned off, we recommend turning them on to keep your app updated.

Running any version of the software from Logos 8 or below? Yes, you’ll need to download this update.

If I update my app, will I lose any of my current features or resources?

No, you’ll keep your current features and resources. If you download the free update you’ll receive the latest fixes and enhancements to ensure you can continually use your features and resources in the future.

Will I need to download the desktop app again in the future to receive future updates?

No, once you’ve downloaded this latest build of the desktop app, we’ll keep your app updated automatically as long as automatic updates are turned on and your computer’s operating system is up to date.

Will Logos work on my computer or smartphone forever?

If your devices can no longer receive the latest updates to their operating system due to its age, Logos may no longer be compatible with your operating system. But don’t fret, you can always use Logos on the web until you replace your device. Check our system requirements for more information.

Are we abandoning our “free software updates” promise?

No. Once you’ve downloaded any of our apps, it will continue to be updated. Every six weeks, we will release a new version update. Unlike the past, when users were required to manually obtain the new version of software every two years, now you’ll receive those updates automatically as long as you have automatic updates turned on.

Can anyone get Logos free?

Yes! Anyone can update to the latest version of the app for free.

What is the difference between access and ownership?

Our free apps provide you with access to an essential-only library and simple resources. Access means that you do not own a permanent license for these resources. This has two primary implications:

• If you buy other collections in the future, you won’t receive dynamic pricing on collections that contain these resources.
• We reserve the right to make changes to what’s included in the small library and features you have access to. If we do, we will communicate those changes ahead of time.
