Computer networking application that can create virtual networks, allowing computers connected to interface with each other.

Hamachi is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that allows users to connect to a virtual network that is secured and private.

A comprehensive tool for setting up and managing your own virtual private networks, provides users with an easy-to-use interface and is ideal for creating secure connections between computers over the Internet.

The user layout of Hamachi is extremely simple and straightforward. The main window displays a list of all the networks the user is connected to, whether they are private networks or public networks. Each network is displayed with a simple button to connect or disconnect. With the settings page, you can configure the settings for the network such as setting the encryption level, port forwarding among other options.

One of the best features of Hamachi is its ability to create a virtual private network with a few click where you can set up your own private network by entering a name and password, and the software will create the network and add the user’s computer to it. You can also invite others to join the network so they can access their files, share data and collaborate on projects.

Hamachi uses a strong encryption algorithm to protect data transferred over the network. It has a built-in firewall to prevent any malicious activity on the network and it provides detailed log files to keep track of the activity on the network.

The client for Hamachi is completely free, though using the services provided by LogMeIn, Inc are actually provided at a cost if you want to use their VPN servers. You are certainly welcome to do a free trial of this system to see whether this particular VPN solution is right for you.

Creating networks with Hamachi is safe and easy. All connections created with it are protected by AES-256 (256-bit) encryption.

Usage of Hamachi does require some knowledge in networking. You may be required to to do some heavy duty firewall and router configuration on both sides to get this client to work properly. Thanks to the online support though, any questions can easily be answered from their forums or from their FAQ page; the forums are certainly the most comprehensive source of help.
