How To Download And Play ‘Rocket League’ Steam Workshop Maps
Rocket League’s core gameplay has remained the same since its release, with just a few Extra Modes to add some much-needed variety to the seven-year-old game.
Luckily for PC players, there’s an active community of creatives who are making their own maps, minigames, challenges, and even game modes for Rocket League, which are all available through the Steam Workshop. Unfortunately, there is currently no way for console players to download these maps, and these Workshop maps are only available through Steam.
With just a few simple steps, you’ll be able to explore a massive variety of player-made content; as of today, there are 180 custom maps available to players through the Steam Workshop. While the quality of this custom content can be hit-or-miss, there are some incredible maps that can provide hours of fun.

Step One: Navigate to the Workshop and Subscribe to a Map
From the Rocket League page in your Steam Library, click on Workshop near the top — just under the Achievement progress bar.
Now, on the Rocket League Workshop page, you’ll be able to browse all of the custom maps that have been published — the Most Popular or Most Subscribed tabs are great places to find high quality maps.
Many of the maps you’ll find are obstacle courses or Challenge maps of varying difficulty that force players to use advanced mechanics to progress. One great example is Lethamyr’s Giant Rings map, which challenges players’ in-air control abilities to boost through flying rings. Challenge maps are often incredibly difficult, but they can be a great way to improve a certain skill.

Unfortunately, there is currently no native way to play with your friends through Steam, but it is possible to do with a little bit of setup and external tools. Below is prolific Rocket League map maker Lethamyr’s guide to setting up a custom map multiplayer lobby, but keep in mind the process may take 30 minutes or more to set up for the first time.

The Steam Workshop is an incredibly easy way to add custom and modded content to your favorite games, and it’s especially simple to install custom Rocket League maps. While the feature is currently lacking integrated multiplayer support, and is missing altogether for non-Steam platforms, these custom maps are a great way to have some fun when Soccar gets stale.
