How to add files and folders to my MEGA account – MEGA Help Centre

It is very easy to add new files and folders to your MEGA account. You can upload new files with any of our apps or in the browser, or you can import files from shared folders, folder links or file links.

Browser

Click on the “New folder” or “Upload” button on the top right of the Cloud Drive. You can also drag and drop files or folders directly into your browser window.

Desktop App

If you want to automatically synchronise folders of your computer and your MEGA account, please install our desktop app. You can also use it to batch-upload files and folders manually into your MEGA account, including by right-clicking on the file or folder in your File Explorer and selecting “Upload to MEGA” on Windows. On macOS, right click on the file or folder in Finder and select “MEGA” from the menu.

iOS

  • To create a new folder, navigate to the Cloud Drive tab. Then tap on the ‘+’ button on the top right and select “New Folder”.
  • To upload one or multiple new files, tap on the ‘+’ button on the top right and select “Choose from Photos” or “Import from Files”. 
  • You can also choose “New Text File” to create a text file or “Scan Document” to scan a document with your camera.
  • To automatically upload all media from your camera roll, enable camera uploads in the app settings.

Android

  • To create a new folder, navigate to the Cloud Drive tab. Then tap the ‘+’ button in the bottom right and select “Create new folder”.
  • To upload one or multiple new files, tap the ‘+’ button and select “Upload”. 
  • From the same ‘+’ button menu you can also choose “Create new text file” to create a text file or “Scan document” to scan a document with your camera.
  • To automatically upload all media from your camera roll, enable camera uploads in the app settings.
