Open Device Manager on your PC and plug in the dongle

We see two new devices named Bulk-In, Interface Windows update cannot find a driver.

Download and run zadig.exe. Use the drop down menu to select Bulk-In, Interface(Interface 0). We want to Install Driver WinUSB(release info).

It will take a moment.

Repeat for the second Bulk-In

We can now use the dongle with a DSP Digital Signal Processing software. CubicSDR plays FM radio stations. It also works as a spectrum analyzer up to 1.7GHz with several demodulation modes.

GNU Radio also works with the dongle, to receive your choice of demodulated signal. FM, AM, QAM, I/Q and more. Look for modules in the search menu for ATSC, QAM, DVB.

The softwares that work with RF radio frequencies work on audio sound, as well. This is DSP Digital Signal Processing on the principle that power calculated in analog must equal the power in discrete, digital samples.

How do I go back?

You can always remove the WinUSB driver and go back to using PrestoPVR on your PC to receive TV, FM and DAB broadcasts. Open Device Manager and locate the two Bulk-In, Interfaces right-click and delete device, tick box to delete drivers too. Repeat for second interface.
