Different Workflow Styles

There are two main workflow styles that you can use in Jira Software:

Kanban Boards

The Kanban style helps identify the workflow. Start by creating an issue and dragging it to the appropriate column. Then, assign it to the person or team that will be responsible for completing the task. When they finish, they can move it to the next stage.

This workflow makes it easy to visualize the life cycle of the project and provides you with an overview of the project status.

Scrum Boards

The scrum workflow is better suited for projects where the focus is on a specific task or tasks. You can assign these tasks as “Sprints” and set goals and timeframes for them to be finished. The scrum board is easy to work with, and like the Kanban, you can use the drag and drop interface to move projects along.

Creating and Assign Tasks

The task creation is similar for both workflows. Choose a category for the task and give it an identifiable title because that is what will appear on the Kanban and Scrum boards. Fill in the details in the description section, and then you can set a due date, priority levels, assign it to an individual or team, and add labels that are helpful when searching for specific tasks.
