MMORPG Tycoon 2 on Steam

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“MMORPG Tycoon 2 has been in development for a long time, and is now to a state where I’m happy for new players to join in and give feedback and help shape the direction of further development!

The basic game and core simulation loops are all now present, but at this stage the game needs a lot of tuning and additional content to make it properly complete. I’m hoping that a new set of players will join and provide us with fresh eyes and fresh feedback to help us take the game further!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I’m expecting this to be a long Early Access period, with regular content drops containing new building types, customizable character models, quests, and event content. We’ll only go into full release when I’m satisfied that the game fully stands on its own two feet.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game is planned to be similar to the early access version, just with more content; more variations in building models, more monster types, more player types, more combat effects, more sounds, more world events, more unlockable technologies, and so on.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in a fully playable state, although custom hand-authored content runs out after a few hours of play, leaving just the procedural game simulation to generate narrative. Authoring more of that hand-authored content will be one of the key goals of our Early Access period!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“My current plan is to leave the game’s price unchanged through Early Access and into full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I’m extremely open with my development process, and regularly chat and discuss upcoming changes with players and testers. The whole point of opening up to Early Access is to bring in more people, to help guide development.

This happens mostly in our
