Microsoft Project is a project management software program for Microsoft Windows operating systems. If you need help with this software after installing it on a home computer, please get support from a third-party service provider in your local area.

Eligibility

Microsoft Project is optional software for your Columbia-owned computer. The cost is $5.07 per full-time employee per year. If you are not eligible, you will not be able to download the installer and will be redirected to a page with additional information. If you would like your department to be eligible so that you can download the software, please submit a ticket to make a request. Customers can expect a response within five business days. and we will review the fee and help you with the process.

If your department receives IT support from CUIT’s Desktop Support department, Project is included as part of your desktop support fee and is not subject to an additional cost. If you are not eligible, you will not be able to download the installer and will be redirected to a page with additional information. If you would like your department to be eligible so that you can download the software, please submit a ticket to the CUIT Service Desk and we will review the fee with you and help you with the process. 

Computer Requirements

Please make sure your computer meets the necessary requirements to run Project 2016 for Windows.

Download and Installation

  1. Download the installer (required UNI login):
    • Project 2016 32bit for Windows 7,8,10 (409 MB)
    • Project 2016 64bit for Windows 7,8,10 (496 MB)
  2. Save the installer to your hard drive, and make a note of where you saved it.
    Double-click the .exe or the .iso file depending on the version of Project.
    For all versions Run setup.exe or click setup (within winzip) Accept the EULA,
    Choose Install Now and choose Close at the last window.
