PS Plus: Free PS5 and PS4 games for March 2023 confirmed
Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus lineup for March 2023. Available starting March 7 — which is when the first Tuesday of the month lands — for PS Plus Essential Extra and Deluxe will be Battlefield 2024, Minecraft Dungeons and Code Vein. Once again, it’s another excellent month of offerings for PS Plus members.
Battlefield 2042 is the latest entry in EA’s long-running first-person shooter franchise. The game was released in 2021 to lackluster reviews; it was the lowest-rated game in the Battlefield series. DICE ditched a traditional single-player campaign with Battlefied 2042, instead opting to focus more on multiplayer as well as the brand new community-driven platform, Battlefield Portal. It allows players to create customized game modes, mixing and matching maps, weapons, classes and equipment from previous Battlefield games. Although Battlefield 2042 got off to a rocky start, it has received numerous patches post-launch which could make it an enjoyable play through PS Plus.
If you’re looking for some co-op action, Minecraft Dungeons will also be free. Set in the universe of Mojang’s blockbuster sandbox game, Minecraft Dungeons is a hack-and-slash-style dungeon crawler played from an isometric perspective. Players explore procedurally generated dungeons filled with randomly generated monsters, traps and rewards. It’s fun, but simple.
The third game for March is Code Vein. This might be the best of the bunch. It’s an action role-playing game often described as “anime Dark Souls.” It makes sense considering publisher Bandai Namco also published God Eater 3 and Dark Souls.
Interestingly, PlayStation Plus subscribers are being treated to a fourth free game in March. Tchia will be available for PS Plus Extra and Premium members on March 21. It’s an open-world sandbox adventure inspired by New Caledonia, an archipelago in the southwest Pacific Ocean.
All three of the main PS Plus monthly games will be available on March 7, 2023. In the meantime, be sure to snag February’s offerings which include Evil Dead: The Game, Olli Olli World, Destiny 2: Beyond Light and Mafia: Definitive Edition.
