Reddit – Dive into anything
I applied as a new grad to a bunch of Software Engineer positions that require experience. Apparently they actually required 2-3 years of experience and don’t just put it on there like all the other requirements because I got a bunch of emails saying I didn’t have enough experience instead of the generic “thank you while your skill set was impressive, etc”.
I thought that it usually takes someone around 2-3 years to make it to senior though.
Does anyone know how the job hunting works for people with slightly more experience (2-3 years)? Once you are a senior engineer, do you have to go back down to regular software engineer
On the upside, there are hundreds of these software engineer positions looking for a few years of experience so job prospects still look good.
