Results of International Army Games 2021 and plans for the Games 2022 discussion with representatives of foreign military departments

Today, at the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation a conference on the results of the preparation and holding of the International Army Games 2021 were summed up with the participation of representatives of the host countries of the Games 2021 and the military-diplomatic corps of foreign states.

Representatives of the military departments of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Serbia, Sri Lanka participated via teleconference. Also, the conference was attended by military attaches from more than 30 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and America.

At the conference, the military attaches of foreign states, representatives of the host countries reported on the results of the Games 2021 competitions in national territories, proposals for discussing the distribution of the Games 2022 competitions between the countries and their locations.

The conference participants highly appreciated the games and noted that, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, the holding of the Games 2021 became the key to the further development of international military cooperation between the military departments of the participating countries.

Also, within the planning conference, a meeting of the international organizing committee for the preparation of the Games 2022 was held, at which the participants and organizers of the games discussed a number of issues related to the Regulations on refereeing, the work of the Main Referee Commission, the distribution of competitions between countries, and the organization of information management.

According to the results of the International Army Games in 2021, 17 countries won medals. The first place in overall medal count was taken by the Russian team (gold medals – 20, silver medals – 13, bronze medals – 4), the second by the team of Uzbekistan (gold medals – 4, silver medals – 9, bronze medals – 3), third place took the Chinese team (gold medals – 3, silver medals – 11, bronze medals – 5). Also during the Games, the military personnel of Russia, Belarus, India, China and Uzbekistan set 33 Games’ records.

277 teams from 42 countries took part in 34 competitions of the International Army Games 2021 on the territory of 11 states.
