Software Minimum System Requirements

Silhouette Studio

The minimum system requirements for Silhouette Studio are as follows:

• Operating System: PC (Windows 8 – Windows 11) OR Mac (OS X 10.14 and higher)

• Internet connection: Strongly recommended for updates and access to the 

  Silhouette Design Store

  Required to activate a license key for upgrading

• RAM: 4 GB of RAM

• Processor: 2 GHz (or faster) processor speed

• Memory: 2 GB hard disk space 

• USB Port: USB 2.0 Port (or higher)

Silhouette Studio is a desktop-only application for PC and Mac. It is not currently supported on Chromebook, iPad, and other tablet or mobile devices.

⚠ NOTE: These represent the minimum requirements. Higher specifications are recommended to improve software performance. Some features, such as Image Effects may not be supported with older graphics cards.

Silhouette 3D

The minimum system requirements for Silhouette 3D are as follows:

• Operating System: PC (Windows 7 and higher) or Mac (OS 10.10 to 10.15)

  NOTE: 

  This software is not compatible with macOS 12 (Monterey) or above

• Internet connection: Strongly recommended for updates and download of purchased designs

• RAM: 4GB

• Processor: Intel or AMD Quad-core at 2.5GHz

• Memory: 4GB of free space

• Graphics: Any that supports OpenGL 1.2 (Any GPU since 2010)

• Network: Any network controller (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)

• USB Port: USB 2.0 Port (or higher)

Silhouette Connect

Silhouette Connect is a plug-in designed to operate inside the Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW software. 

The minimum system requirements for Silhouette Connect are as follows:

• Operating System: PC (Windows 7 – Windows 11) or Mac (OS X 10.10 or higher) 

• Other Requirements:

   

  All other requirements to run Silhouette Connect will match any minimum system requirements of the compatible Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW version in use

Silhouette Go

The minimum system requirements for the Silhouette Go™ mobile application are as follows:

• Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.): iOS 8.0 or later

• Android devices: Silhouette Go will only be listed in the Google Play store if your device is supported

Silhouette Go is a mobile-only application for Apple and Android devices. It is not currently supported on Chromebook.

How to Check Compatibility

PC

1. Press [Windows]+Pause button on the keyboard simultaneously

   NOTE: the [Windows] key is between [Ctrl] and [Alt]

Mac

1. Select the apple symbol at the top left corner
