Tajima Group Acquires Pulse Microsystems

The embroidery machine manufacturer says Pulse’s personalization, workflow and automation software will help the company “develop new intelligent machine functionality.”

Tajima Group, a global manufacturer of embroidery machines, announced this week that it has acquired embroidery and decoration software company Pulse Microsystems, establishing it as Tajima Software Solutions Inc. (TSS) in Toronto. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pulse’s workflow and personalization automation software for embroidery, print and engraving has transformed the production process and e-commerce offerings of the largest global brands in sportswear, fashion, workwear and gifts, according to the companies. It’s also a popular software choice for small- and medium-sized companies. Automating on-demand and personalized product decoration of all types using any machine brand and any decoration technique has enabled customers to scale their businesses profitably and sustainably, the companies note.

“Our vision of providing comprehensive solutions to the product decorating market depends on integrating world-class software technology with our world-class hardware engineering,” said Hidetoshi Kojima, CEO of the Tajima Group.

He added that Pulse’s technology, including vector and image processing engines and its cloud platform, will allow Tajima to “develop new intelligent machine functionality and industry 4.0 with IoT connectivity.”

Tas Tsonis, co-founder of Pulse and now managing director of the newly established TSS, will continue to drive the technology vision at TSS, along with Pulse co-founder Brian Goldberg and executive Claude Vlandis.

“We’re excited to join the Tajima team and participate in its vision of transforming the product decorating industry with innovative solutions elevating scalability and sustainability,” Tsonis said. “Pulse has partnered with Tajima for more than 20 years in the development of its advanced embroidery software technologies. Together, Tajima and Pulse are executing on our shared vision of providing innovative complete solutions for product decorators.”
