The Top 10 Female Crypto Influencers to Watch in 2022

Ahead of International Women’s Day, we’ve curated a list of 10 crypto influencers – all of whom just happen to be women.

Crypto chatter can be found in every corner of the internet, but there’s no doubt that Twitter is one of the most active – and passionate forums.

Few will have missed the crypto-related tweets of famous enthusiasts like Elon Musk– remember when Dogecoin surged 60% after a supportive Musk tweet? Let’s also acknowledge how crypto-celebs like Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin (@VitalikButerin) and Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao (@cz_binance) have garnered millions of followers.

When looking at media coverage of the biggest crypto influencers, one thing jumps out – the lack of women.

Is the lack of coverage of female crypto influencers justified by actual numbers? A 2021 eToro survey found just 15% of Bitcoin traders were women, while another survey from NORC at the University of Chicago based on 1,004 US adults found that a higher, 41% of cryptocurrency traders were women. Data from Bitstamp showed a 200% increase in the number of female crypto investors on its platform through the first nine months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.

Then there are the general challenges of being a woman online, from inappropriate remarks to dismissive comments to outright abuse, which a recent Vice article noted could certainly be true in the male-dominated world of crypto. Women of color may be especially pushed out of these spaces.

Still, many women have persisted and have become respected, widely-followed influencers and speakers on crypto and related topics.

Besides investors and traders, the best female crypto influencers are educators, journalists, world economic policy leaders, and software engineers reshaping the future of crypto.
