The latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 driver update adds support for DirectX ray-tracing and Outriders

AMD has released the latest version of its Adrenalin 2020 Edition driver for Radeon cards. It is hardly essential, yet may be useful for those wishing for the best experience in ray-tracing-heavy titles such as Cyberpunk 2077. It also adds support for some other games, including Outriders and Evil Genius 2: World Domination.

AMD has announced a new update for Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition drivers. This 21.3.2 version is the one that adds support for ray-tracing in games that integrate DirectX. Besides this, it may fix issues some users may have been having with certain monitors hooked up to their RX graphics solutions.

The manufacturer did not mention any of these displays by name; however, it seems that RX 6000-series cards may have been causing black screens while playing a game set to a borderless full-screen output while Radeon FreeSync was on.

Similarly, some RX 6700 cards may have resulted in incorrect core clock reports in performance-adjusting tabs, system graphics hardware-info tabs or both. However, Adrenalin 2020 Edition v21.3.2 should fix these bugs.

However, these potential positives do not come without some new drawbacks of their own. The new update might result in “stuttering or ghosting” during borderless full-screen Rocket League sessions with Vsync on.
