Top 10 Best MOBA Games of All Time

The Top Ten

League of Legends

League of Legends is the most popular MOBA, and one of the most popular overall games, in the world. League of Legends is not the first MOBA, but it definitely leads the way today with one of the largest player bases in all of gaming. League of Legends is very popular in the eSports realm and has many professional players and teams that compete for million dollar prizes during the season.

Best MOBA, never gets boring, not off of story its off of PVP, which is good because its all about self improvement, trying to be the best. none of this, better weapons the strongest, crap, very addictive. if you have never played this game and is reading this a highly recommend this game.

Why I prefer League to Dota?
– It has a fun atmosphere, while Dota is very gloomy, dark and serious.
– League champions are modern and cool, Dota heroes are ancient and barbaric.
– This is personal experience, but I’ve found both communities equally bad (or good).
– More than one game mode.
– New champion every 4 months.
– URF, Poro, One for All, etc.
– Riot’s music team is greatly underrated.
– LoL’s YouTube Channel is beautiful. Gameplay videos, teasers, cinematics, music. It’s all great.

I love Dota too, this is just why I like LoL better

I love League because It always pumps my Adrenalin every time I play it. And I hate every time dota2 player says that they are more dominant than league, but still league stays humble and great.

Dota 2

Dota 2, or Defense of the Ancients 2, is the sequel to the originator of the MOBA Genre. Like all MOBA games, in Dota 2 you will control your hero along with 4 allies to take out the enemy team on the opposite end of the map. The graphics in Dota 2 are probably the best of the entire genre, with a great attention to detail in both the scenery and the sounds. The champions in Dota 2 are all very unique and none play like the next.

DotA 2 is basically a harder version and more improved of League. For me it’s quite not as fun, but it definitely deserves number 1 or 2.

Greatest game I ever played. With a great graphics and harder than the other (except for smite). It’s just great.

It’s way too better than others. You’re not a gamer if you don’t have skills to manage everything tactically!

Smite

This game is harder to get into than other mobas because it is genuinely a much harder game. However, it is also much more rewarding. You not only partake in a more intense and entertaining experience with greater gameplay depth, you learn about the mythology of other cultures to some degree and won’t be flamed at by every single player you group with. Just tell them your new, listen to what they say, and try your best and you will gradually come to learn and love the best moba on the market. Many players from other mobas try the game looking for faults. They give up mainly because the game is too difficult for them. I will say straight up, if you are a passive gamer like many of them, your start in smite will be rough. If you want to be active or are willing to try to learn the game and actually do stuff in the game you play (how innovative), try smite. After that initial hump, it is honestly the best moba on the market.

Great game with a nice variety of maps (modes). My favorite being Assault>Arena>Joust>Clash>Siege>Conquest. I love to have the option to play shorter matches.. I don’t always have the time to spend 1h at a game, so these game modes give me lots of options. From the fast pased 5v5 arena to the long 3 lane 5v5 conquest.
I really really like the FPS view. Feels like you are more “in the game running with the minions”. Also the theme I like a lot. Gods + their lore facinate me so that was a 1+ for me.

About the community. I see a lot of hate towards smite community.. I can’t really say much of it. Normally I just mute/block harassers cus I really hate people in every game who think they are pro and therefore think they can flame on everyone. Giving tips, advice should always be the first way to go. But like I said, I don’t feel much of the bad community. And otherwise I just ignore..

It’s a MOBA so you know what to expect when it comes to gameplay. It’s popular so you get short queues which is nice. It’s 3rd person action combat with top notch animations and graphics. It being free to play means it carries a great variety of skins and voice packs (which is where they earn their money) and this variety shines a positive light on the game. It has 80+ gods to choose from with different play styles.
In it’s genre (3rd person action moba) it is the best game out there and it is free.

SMITE takes the MOBA category in a slightly different direction by introducing a new camera angle. Instead of the typical top down or 3/4 view you are in more of a third-person combat view. With that new angle SMITE requires more skill-based combat and resembles more of a PvP MMO than a straight up MOBA. SMITE features mythical gods from multiple cultures across history instead of, umm, how do I say this, made up heroes? Each God has a unique playstyle and only four abilities, which makes it easy to pick up and play.

Heroes of the Storm

The good: Far easier learning curve, and no need to waste effort last hitting minions, which really isn’t much of a skill requirement anyways. Less toxic community than any moba I’ve played (of course, there is still toxicity, it’s a moba). Wide variety of maps, which certain heroes excel at meaning that no hero will be left never being played (like in LoL). Also a wide variety of team compositions that can succeed, unlike certain games where you will see the same general composition every match.

Also shorter matches so you can play more games, or if you only have half an hour, you can be sure you’ll finish a game in time.

Only real con, which makes the game faster to learn, so can also be a pro, is that there is no item shop which means characters are less customizable.

Heroes of the Storm is a brand new free to play MOBA game from Blizzard Entertainment. The game hopes to bring new meaning to the team brawling genre with your favorite Blizzard characters. With more than 20 years of Blizzard gaming history, settings and iconic characters, Heroes of the Storm will finally settle the score between who’s stronger, Diablo or Kerrigan, Thrall or Tyrael!

Of all the MOBAs out there, HotS is amongst those with the most money and development put into it (since it’s Blizzard). It’s really fun, fast-paced, and has an exciting competitive scene. While many people consider it to be for filthy casuals, there is a lot of strategy and depth in it hidden behind a simple format. Easy to learn, hard to master.

Great community, really fun heroes with unique abilities. More team based than the others, not so much flaming, not so addictive.

Heroes of Newerth

Heroes of Newerth is a quite popular free to play MOBA that is heavily inspired by the original DotA. HoN is extremely competitive and has one of the most community oriented players around. The best players have put in the hours and have learned to not only play each and every character, but how to use them in conjunction with their teammates.

Best moba ever!

Vainglory

Because of its compact nature, Vainglory offers a more intensive gameplay whereas the other larger pc MOBAs have a more spread out nature. It’s interface and controls are far smoother than that League’s due to the fact that the touch screen allows for faster reaction timing. It’s build paths for each individual hero are so diverse due to its split paths that competitive players will break metas in there free time to find crazy poop strats. Super Evil Megacorp has maintain the core values of any moba while making it an enjoyably vigorous game, which emphasizes the skills of each player and position.

The most quality Triple A Moba on mobile. Amazing Graphics and no stupid stamina system for p2a BS. To earn the highest rate (Tied 10 Vainglorius), you need pure skill, and team cooperation. You can just mash every button and think you will reach the highest tier. You have to tme your Active items like Reflex Block. Their are 2 popular modes 5v5 and 3v3 as well as brawl modes. They give you so much free stuff as well. I have never spent a single penny on this game and I have 50 skins. Though I am considering supporting this game in the future.

Vainglory is so much fun. The artwork is fairly amazing, lores, new heroes and updates etc.Though there are other MOBA games, Vainglory is in a league of its own for being able to run on a mobile device. It’s fun, simple, and quicker than most MOBAs; best of all, it’s free.

I’ve always found Vainglory to be more exciting and action packed, as compared to other mobas I’ve tried (Dota 2, LoL, Smite). The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is sleek. The matches are also not as long as other traditional mobas, which makes it a much easier game to get into. Overall, a great moba!

Bloodline Champions

Bloodline Champions offers a more simplified take on the classic MOBA game. In Bloodline Champions there is no leveling of characters and no equipment or loot. There are also no minions or creeps to distract you, just straight up battling between characters. Bloodline Champions is a great MOBA for begginers and veterens looking for a chance of pace.

I love the game, although I’m a bit biased as I was one of it’s developers

Prime World

Prime World is a very unique Moba that makes it a fun game to play. The most interesting part of it is that there are a lot of building and getting resources involved like Starcraft. And then, you have the Moba game play that gives you the PvP aspect.

Infinite Crisis

Infinite Crisis brings the DC Universe to life with a MOBA inspired game that is simple to learn but provides all the depth that you want to see in a massively multiplayer online battle arena game. With characters like the Joker, Cyborg, Batman, Catwoman, Flash, Wonder Woman and so many others it’s a great nostalgic experience for DC fans but there are still enough of the more well-known characters that it doesn’t turn away people who aren’t as familiar with the DC universe.

I like the game but hate the company that creates it. It has promiss but Turbine is going to make it into another pay to win zinga gamme like lotro and ddo. it is really a shame they aloowed them to create it over someone else. they as a company are the most notorious for bugs and stuff. The game had potential to e the best of its kind but Turbine blew it

Airmech

10

AirMech is a free to play mech-focused MOBA that is inspired by an old RTS game called Herzog Zwei. In AirMech you will lead an airborne mech that can transform into a walking murder machine at any moment. Your mech is outfitted with guns, rockets, lasers and shields and patrols a uniquely colorful battlefield looking for opponents and their bases.

The Contenders

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

11

Probably isn’t the best MOBA out there but it’s got me hooked like crazy and even though there are a few OP characters, it’s still worth playing. The only thing that spoils the game are trash teammates

How to make Mobile Legends: Bang Bang better? Remove Emblems, and Hidden Skin Buff.

This game made me love games from the MOBA genre! Love Mobile Legends

Great moba for androids

Garena Arena of Valor

12

Nice game unexplainable

So much event

Paragon

13

The community is a serious issue, but once you get a certain level of skill and learn to be a good person (haha) this game becomes one if not the best MOBA, with a promising future, great gameplay, not hard to understand, and thought it’s still a open beta, it’s damn great and everyone should give it a try. Special now as of v42.

The greatest MOBA I ever played. All heroes are balanced. Every character have a different style of play. The 3D rigging is just amazingly beautiful. They add new champions every the week.

The game is amazing, the third person perspective really allowed the art team to shine because it’s a beautiful game with really interesting heroes and great gameplay!

The graphic are amazing considering its F2P. Community is equally bad and good. I like the Heroes as their appearance match with their abilities. The. Support team is quite responsive and Useful

14 Defense of the Ancients

15 Heroes of Order & Chaos

Overwatch

16

This game is so fun and addictive. It offers like 30 different characters to choose from, each with their own unique set of skills, to battle with. That is a lot of content put into this game, and that is awesome.

Team Fortress 2

17

Basically, the Overwatch before Overwatch was made. Its got all these different classes to choose from and fun ways to battle one another. Like Overwatch? You will surely like this as well.

Clash Royale

18

My personal favorite MOBA out of all of these listed. The way it is set up and played just seems more different than the others here, so it stands out to me. Not that I don’t enjoy some Dota, LoL, Smite, and HotS as well, I just think this game is among the ranks of those others I listed. Vote for this if you have any extra votes left, it is a worth while game!

Dead by Daylight

19

Now this is an interesting item on this list. You may not believe it at first, but this is indeed a MOBA game, it just works much more differently than other MOBA games. This is a good thing though, because it is nice to have something different to experience every now and then.

Dawngate

20

Dawngate will be focused on an incredibly rich lore with a very detailed environment. The game will be a unique play on a fantasy-themed MOBA game that is built from the ground up. The game will have a more natural, easy-to-learn progression along with a better interface and multiple objectives.

The only Moba that had more of a focus on story and created some of my favorite characters. I miss it so much… Hope to see something like it again

Battlerite

21

The best MOBA experience, but fails due to amount of players. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who purchased the game during beta who dislikes it, but toward release the queue times became unbearable.

Skill really shows in this game more than other MOBAs as there are no minions, levels, or farming that needs to be done – its all about the battles. Averse OP

I just love the fast paced intense battles it offers. I especially like Ashka and Taya

22 Heroes Evolved

SmashMuck Champions

23

SmashMuck Champions is a free online arena game that seperates itself from many in the MOBA genre by offering a bit of a twist on traditional gameplay modes and settings. The characters in SmashMuck Champions are far from typical, they have dinosaurs, robots, dragons, blobs and lots of others.

Deadbreed

24

Deadbreed is a brand new free to play MOBA game from an independent Swedish development team. Deadbreed hopes to bring a darker take on the MOBA genre with unprecedented hero customizeability and additional RPG gameplay elements not seen in today’s MOBAs.

Super Monday Night Combat

25

Super Monday Night Combat (SMNC) is a free to play MOBA game that utilises a third person shooter perspective. The game is one of the few MOBA shooters and has proven very successful amongst gamers. If you love your shooters and want a new multiplayer online battle arena experience then the free to play Super Monday Night Combat should be at the top of your list.
