Dear Hjalmar,

thank you for your feedback. The decision not to use seed words was based solely on the fact that most of crypto stolen is due to the seed words. They are not encrypted and reveal not only all your existing but also all your wallets in the future. This is a gift to hackers. They steal the words and wait….and wait…and it might be after 6 months, maybe a year when they will strike. Users will long forget about the possibility they were somehow leaked.

We use encrypted backups and each of the wallets created on the BC Vault is truly unique and not linked to any previous wallet. You can create as many backups on microSD cards or paper as you want. You can even run same wallets on multiple devices at the same time, so you can have active-active backup system.

But on the lowest possible level, BC Vault DOES allow raw private key export as a last resort. This is actually the lowest level of private key, even beneath the seed words. With this it is possible to import your BC Vault wallet to other solution. No internet or servers on our end are needed for this operation!

We certainly hope that explains our decision,
Team BC Vault
