PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In April 2023
April is not yet overly packed with games, although PS5 and PS4 owners have a few things to look forward to. Hogwarts Legacy’s last-gen iteration should be debuting on April 4, a couple of months after the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions. These releases tend to be overshadowed by their more console-relevant counterparts, but hopefully, it is a good port of the game.
Capcom will be releasing Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, a compilation containing all 10 games released in the franchise. It should be noted that only six games are truly unique since four entries in the series received dual releases similar to Pokemon. Adapting the popular platform franchise for an RPG format, Mega Man Battle Network had an enjoyable run on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, with each game offering close to 20 hours of content.
PS5 owners who loved Horizon Forbidden West have the Burning Shores expansion to look forward to, which is set to take place in this universe’s version of Los Angeles. April is primed to include the debut of Dead Island 2, and the long-awaited open-world sequel is also set in the City of Angels, along with San Francisco.

PS5 & PS4 Games Coming Out In May 2023
Although still taking shape, May 2023 already has a couple of noteworthy releases. Paradox Interactive’s Age of Wonders 4 has confirmed that it will be coming to consoles, following in the footsteps of 2019’s Planetfall. The franchise is well respected as a member of the 4X turn-based strategy genre.
Ys 9: Monstrum Nox is set to be ported to the PS5, granting owners a next-gen option if they would rather play that than the PS4 release. Anyone who prefers turn-based RPGs should keep an eye on Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, especially since CyberConnect2’s first game garnered a positive reception.
Amnesia: The Bunker is the next entry in Frictional Games’ first-person horror franchise, and the game takes place during World War 1. Out of all the new PS5 games announced for May 2023, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is undoubtedly the biggest title. Rocksteady’s action-adventure project could prove to be the spiritual successor to the developer’s Arkham franchise.
- May 2: Age of Wonders 4 (PS5)
- May 9: Ys 9: Monstrum Nox (PS5)
- May 11: Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 (PS5, PS4)
- May 16: Amnesia: The Bunker (PS4)
- May 16: Atlas Fallen (PS5)
- May 17: Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle (PS5, PS4)
- May 18: Endless Dungeon (PS5, PS4)
- May 19: Garden Simulator (PS5, Switch)
- May 19: Truck Driver: Premium Edition (PS5)
- May 23: Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook (PS5, PS4)
- May 25: Fuyukara, Kururu. (Switch)
- May 26: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PS5)
Some of the biggest games currently in development have yet to give an exact release date for 2023. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Layers of Fear should hit the market within the calendar year, and they could be among the biggest titles of 2023. June is shaping up to be a rather huge month as Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, and Final Fantasy 16 have all revealed release dates for that period. RoboCop: Rogue City is also tentatively announced for June.
Games like Lord of the Rings – Gollum, AEW Fight Forever, and Alan Wake 2 have a great deal of potential, even if they are somewhat niche projects. Titles such as The Wolf Among Us 2, Bloodlines 2, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Ghostrunner 2 are also targeting 2023 releases.
Major Games In Development With A Post-2023 Debut Or No Release Year
As games spend years in development, plenty of projects are known to be in the works but have yet to announce anything resembling a release year. While it is not completely out of the question that some of these titles could be released in 2023, the developers have not given any indication of that being the case.
Death Stranding 2, Slitterhead, Assassin’s Creed Infinity, and Beyond Good and Evil 2 are some of the biggest games in the works, all of which will attract plenty of attention once they debut. Most of these titles are presumably a few years away, although there is always a chance they could be announced in 2022. Some other massive titles are Kingdom Hearts 4, Grand Theft Auto 6, Judas, and The Elder Scrolls 6.
Rumored PS5 & PS4 Games
Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt; that said, speculating about what unrevealed titles are secretly in development for the PS5 can be a lot of fun. While nothing has been confirmed, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Grand Theft Auto 6, and Marvel Spider-Man 2 are fairly safe bets.
With the PS5 picking up momentum, rumors have started making the rounds as people begin to speculate on what games they would love to see make an appearance on the console. Could these releases take the form of long-overdue sequels? Much needed remakes? Or could there be some new IP in the works that will become the new GTA?
